On the occasion of International Museum Day, 18 May 2026, the state-of-the-art Virtual Reality (VR) Facility was inaugurated at Kurukshetra Panorama & Science Centre by the Chief Guest, Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva, Vice Chancellor, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. Virtual Reality (VR) offers visitors an exciting and immersive way to experience science and technology. Using advanced VR headsets and interactive digital systems, visitors can explore virtual environments that simulate real-life situations, scientific concepts, and futuristic experiences in a safe and engaging manner. When visitors wear the VR headset, they are transported into a fully immersive virtual world where they can look around, interact, and experience scenarios as if they were physically present in that environment. The VR Facility allows visitors to explore virtual worlds such as space, oceans, historical sites, and scientific environments through immersive VR movies like “Journey to the Sky”, “Hidden Gems”, “Incredible India” and “Life in 2050”. It also serves as an innovative educational tool by transforming complex concepts into interactive visual experiences. Topics such as astronomy, human anatomy, environmental science, and physical phenomena become easier to understand and more engaging for students and visitors alike. Through immersive simulations, students can virtually travel through the solar system, observe microscopic structures, and understand natural processes, enhancing curiosity, creativity, and scientific understanding.
